The Avengers

Filed under: Action Figures — Tags: — noodles @ 3:58 am

The Avengers are Hot Toys. The Avengers film hit theaters one month ago, but it’s still on many action figure collectors minds. The Hasbro figures were fine, but Hot Toys is making fans everywhere drool with each new image released. This weekend they revealed additional shots of their upcoming Thor and Loki figures.

And I was drooling just like everyone else. They made distinct improvements to the originally teased Thor head sculpt, and Loki is just as eerily unsettling in plastic as he was on the big screen. Hot Toys continues to make the most unbelievably realistic figures in the world, and I hope I eventually manage to get my hands on these two.

You can find more images on the Hot Toys Facebook page, and I strongly encourage you to take a look. It doesn’t get much better than this in the world of action figures.

Diamond Select Toys SDCC Exclusives. Diamond Select Toys recently revealed their 2012 San Diego Comic-Con exclusives. They seem to have big plans for the convention floor, including the opportunity to buy a number of new convention-exclusive Minimates and statues. You can find all the details of the announcement and an image gallery of the figures at the provided link.

Everything looks good, but by far the most exciting piece of news for me is the inclusion of the Battle Beasts two-pack with Vorin and Zik. We’ve already gotten multiple looks at Vorin, the heroic ram character who stars in the comic book series. It’s the brand new villainous Zik that’s catching my eye, and he looks like he’ll match the high standards set by Vorin.

These Battle Beast Minimates are all looking fantastic so far, and I can’t wait to see where this line is headed.
