Cleaning Dusty And Dirty Toys

Sometimes no matter what you do to prevent it, figures will get dusty and dirty. And most thrift store or eBay purchases of loose figures require a good cleaning too. This month's tip for new collectors will have your figures in tip-top condition, whether new or old.

Tip: Don't be afraid to give dirty, dusty, grimy, or slobbery toys a bath! Simply drop the figure into a bowl of warm water, add a reasonable amount of soap (no bleach or harmful chemicals), and grab a soft-bristled toothbrush. Let the figure soak for a bit, then use the toothbrush to give it a good scrub. Pay particular attention to joints and textured areas. Figures with stickers, decals, or fabric may not be ideal for full submersion, but are instead better suited to a toothbrush dipped in soapy water that allows for greater discretion with cleanable areas.
